Clinics And Other Services

These are provided by the doctors and practice nurses. Please contact the receptionist who will advise you about the correct appointment.

Many of our health care appointments for such as blood pressure measurement, immunisations (apart from those for children), minor surgery, maternity care and family planning advice will be provided within normal surgery times rather than fixed clinics. This is for the convenience of patients as such appointments can be provided on every weekday of every week. However, we do provide the following clinics, which are held at the Hessle surgery.

Asthma

Under the direction of Dr Baré, specialist clinics for asthma sufferers are available on a weekly basis.

Cervical Smear

The practice nurses or doctors carry these out. The receptionist can make appointments.

Child Health

The child development clinic is held fortnightly and is run by Dr O’Sullivan. Appointments will be made for you with the doctor for developmental checks.

Diabetes

Dr Sivarajan has the lead role in the provision of clinics for patients with diabetic conditions, held twice each month.

Family Planning

We offer a full range of services and appointments can be made in normal surgery hours.

Hypertension (Blood Pressure)

The positive management of patients with blood pressure problems is one of the practice’s highest priorities. The practice nurse holds regular clinics.

Maternity Services

Full care is provided by the partners and local community midwives.

New Patients

New patients may be asked to undertake a brief health check as part of the registration procedure.

Travel Vaccinations

Our treatment room nurses can advise you and administer the inoculations you may require to travel abroad. It is best to seek advice at least six weeks before travelling. Please note that there is a charge for some of these vaccinations and the accompanying certificates.

Well Man Clinics

These clinics are held by the practice nurse and are available during surgery hours.

Well Woman Clinics

Dr Sherman along with the nurse practitioner holds a well woman/family planning/menopause clinic every two weeks on a Monday afternoon from 1.30 - 3.00pm.
